A core vocabulary, to be used with speech, signs and/or symbols. Designed to provide a basic interactive vocabulary for adults and children with communication difficulties and for those people who share their lives. The Makaton Core Vocabulary was designed to be a small vocabulary of concepts enabling a person to express essential needs and experiences and to initiate functional and purposeful interactive communication.
