Item Description
Radical because this book confronts stereotypes about those with disabilities. Humane because there is a deep grasp of humanity and diability. Practical because there are tools to assist those experiencing loss. The fact that the authors have disabilities may account for the empathy on each page. They know what it is to be stripped of humanity and classified as “non-feeling” diabled people. They advocate for the right for all people to feel grief while providing insight and ideas for how to better support. Carolyn is a woman with albinism and visual impairment. Jeff is a man with cerebral palsy (or “Secret Paws” as his young son says it). They make a unique training team. Together, they have written this almost miraculous book.
