Next course: 10 & 11 August 2020

We present our “Down Syndrome – Success in School” course twice a year. This is a two day course for SENCO’s, teachers, teacher aides, specialist staff, occupational therapists and parent educators. Each day starts at 8.30am and finishes at approximately 3.45pm.

This course provides a wealth of information about different approaches that can be used to ensure children with Down Syndrome are well supported and engaged in their education and can reach their highest potential. Over the two days you will hear from a variety of speakers including Dr Jude MacArthur on topics from learning profiles, inclusion, use of visual supports, numeracy, literacy and how to adapt the curriculum, narrative assessment, and behaviour and friendships.

This course is not to be missed. If you have a child starting school soon, or already at school we encourage you to attend – and very importantly, to encourage your school to attend too. Many schools come back year after year because the learnings are so valuable.

HELP US TO HELP YOU We would like to directly reach out to the school that your child is at, or will be attending. Please help by sending the name of the school, contact person (or people) and their email addresses directly to clo@adsa.org.nz.
